FEAR THE CYBERMEN!
You guys and gals wanna see my NEWEST POP-aganda piece? I just finished this yesterday, and couldn’t wait to show it to you minions. I’m pretty pleased with how this came out. What do you think?

This is my piece for Emerald City Comicon’s “Monsters & Dames” 2013 book. I won’t know for a while whether it gets picked or not (there’s always a ton of awesome submissions), but I just wanted to put it out there. This is my first ever submission for M&D, so fingers crossed it gets picked. :)
The idea of “Monsters & Dames” is basically what it says on the tin. Monsters and women together. So, when I was mulling over what to draw for this, I really wanted to incorporate my retro-POPaganda style and make it really tell a story. So, I figured what better way to do that than by designing a para-military organization tasked with keeping the peace in a sci-fi future fantasy world. Naturally, the Monster Squad is a small branch of that organization, but it is also, unarguably the coolest. Only the best and the brightest in the organization get picked for Monster Squad. By putting a woman on the recruitment poster, the top brass are showing that they have no prejudices about who is chosen to bond with a monster for Squad duty.
I really should write this up into a full treatment, huh?

“Beat the Beast” - Personal Project, 2012
SO, last night - while NASA was landing a new robot on Mars and while nerds everywhere were celebrating the awesomeness of SCIENCE - I drew this.
I’ve had this in my head for a while, but hesitated to do it largely because Mario in propaganda style had been done before, and I didn’t want to do another one. So, I needed to find a way for the piece to be more about the Ape than about Mario. I think I managed it. What say you?
A Batman Art Deco-style piece I finished recently. I’ll have this and many other nerdalicious things at Wondercon this weekend! Small Press Table SP-043.
